Evangelizing NKN at Plug And Play

On December 6th, NKN Co-Founder, Bruce Li, shared the NKN story including our upcoming Communication as a Service (CaaS) products at the Plug And Play global headquarters in Silicon Valley. Plug and Play is an early stage investor, accelerator, and corporate innovation hub which features over 300 corporate partners and 200 VCs within its ecosystem. It was a great opportunity to evangelize NKN within this vibrant community.

Commercial deployment with NAS manufacturer started

We have been working with a Network Attached Storage (NAS) vendor to enable customers to share content such as photos and videos directly from their home NAS to their mobile app. This uses NKN network and has already been deployed to more than 13,000 NAS devices and will roll out to more customers in the future. This is a real world adoption at scale and is one of the largest deployments built on top of NKN to date.

Partnership with China Mobile

In early December, NKN reached an agreement with a division of China Mobile in southern China to collaborate in strategic areas including cloud computing, network, and blockchain. In addition, NKN will be using China Mobile Edge Servers and underlying infrastructure to run NKN applications such as nCDN and nFTP for enterprise customers.

NKN support Twitter’s bluesky initiative

NKN fully supports Twitter’s @bluesky initiative, and aspire to help create the protocol for true peer to peer communication, and help build the network foundation for a decentralized social network. It is exciting to be part of a future that societal conversation is civil, fact based and healthy!

Twitter is funding a small independent team of up to five open source architects, engineers, and designers to develop an open and decentralized standard for social media. The goal is for Twitter to ultimately be a client of this standard.

Dr. Wolfram, NKN advisor @stephen_wolfram, went to Washington to talk about “open up the AI” in June 2019. Mentioned in Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s twitter storm on decentralization, Dr. Wolfram proposed two solutions to AI powered content selection. A recommended read.
