NKN is proud to announce a new collaboration with Ankr, a distributed compute platform that uses idle computing resources in data centers and edge devices. Both NKN and Ankr have adopted a sharing economy business model that seeks to leverage the unused resources that are available in today’s Internet while advocating for a decentralized web. However, to unlock the full potential of the decentralized web, we need to provide a foundation for the next generation of applications and services. By combining NKN’s networking capabilities with Ankr’s compute resources, we can work together to enable the decentralized web 3.0.

The decentralized web starts with infrastructure and one of the fastest growing segments is edge computing. The global edge computing market is expected to reach $3.2B by 2025 and many Telecom carriers are looking to incorporate edge computing into their network architecture to serve new gaming, IoT, and autonomous driving applications. However, these expensive and vital edge resources need to be maximized for the carrier and for the customer. Together NKN and Ankr software running on carrier edge computing can manage unused network and compute resources for new applications and revenue streams.

In addition to products and solutions, NKN and Ankr will be cooperating in joint community and marketing efforts. This includes activities such as marketing campaigns, live AMAs, as hosted events that showcase our joint solutions. In addition, joint hackathon and developer outreach by the two teams as well as other partners, can enable any developers to build Web 3.0 applications.

We are excited to be working with Ankr to build the decentralized web3.0. Bringing together crowdsourced computing and networking resources will provide the infrastructure for new innovative applications and services. Together, we can ensure that everyone has access to secure, private, low cost, and rich Internet experience of the future.

About Ankr

Ankr Network aims to establish a more open cloud ecosystem by building a distributed computing platform that could leverage idle computing resources in an efficient marketplace. Noting high margins earned by tech giants involved in the cloud computing industry, the team behind Ankr Network believes there should be a way for researchers, students and startups to access affordable cloud computing in a way that is not centralized.
